Bold Faith

In moments of crisis and uncertainty, people often turn to faith. Many people then expect and demand a miracle from God. This concept of faith is severely distorted. As we read in the May 30 devotion from Blackaby, Meshach, Shadrach, & Abednego had a crisis of belief as they faced the fiery furnace. Scripture clearly shows that they believed (beyond a shadow of a doubt) that God was ABLE to save them. However, they understood and supported the possibility that this might NOT be God’s will. Therefore, they boldly declare that they will remain faithful regardless of their circumstance. That is REAL faith. That’s the kind of faith God expects and demands of His people. That’s the kind of faith that will attract a dark world to Christ. Once the world sees the genuine faith and subsequent action of believers, those separated from God are forced to make a decision. When we blend into the background, others don’t even have to consider our faith worthy of recognition. What are you doing today that will make others stop and take notice of our Savior? If the answer is nothing, then it’s time to deepen your faith through action. The battle is not yours; it’s God’s. He will be faithful to guide you each step of the way.
