Have you ever had one of those days...?

Have you ever had one of those days when you think the world is against you. You had your quiet time, you spent time earnestly seeking God in prayer and then...
  • The children and/or your spouse get up grumpy (not mine of course but yours)
  • You're running late for work and you get behind a school bus on a two lane road with no room to pass (not that I would ever pass a school bus).
  • Then you make it out on to Scottsville Road and, wouldn't you know it, traffic is backed up for what seems like miles.
As we read in our devotional today about Joshua and Caleb and how, to spite the fact that they did what it was God told them to do, they still had to bear the consequences of the actions of the rest of the Israelites and wander in the desert for 40 years before they finally were able to partake in the Promised Land. Don't you just think that they had some days when they were thinking, "Why?!" However, as Blackaby notes, Joshua and Caleb "...had been delayed but not thwarted" and God's ultimate purpose for them was accomplished.
When you have one of those days, when you are doing what it is that God wants you to do and nothing seems to work out right, just PRESS ON and remember, as John 16:33 says, "I tell you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

Thank you Jesus that you are bigger than anything that may come my way today!!
