Faith

Today, our Experience God Day-by-Day devotion addresses the subject of faith. Hebrews 1:1 describes faith as this. “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” This verse implies a foundation of understanding who God is and what He has done as revealed through His Word and through our knowing Him Personally.

We trust God because He is God. We know Him through our study of His Word and through our commitment to Jesus Christ. Every circumstance in life we encounter grows our confidence in the faithful God He is. When life’s events sometime ambush us, we begin to respond by faith instead of responding in fear.

Today’s verse, Hebrews 11:6, says that it is impossible to please God without faith. This adds another dimension to our desire to live by faith. Earlier, I described faith as the tool which helps us to live life at it’s best. This verse says that we not only live by faith for that reason, but more importantly, we live by faith in order to please God.

God has created us to trust Him in every way for every need in our lives. It pleases Him when we trust Him for His provision.
