We had a meeting with God last night!
Boy, we really had church today!
All my life, I've heard expressions like these to describe an extraordinary church worship service. I've been present when they occur. Many times emotions run high in these settings and we may mistake that emotional high for real worship or meeting with God.
How many times have you had a deep, personal meeting with almighty God when no one else was present? Does it take others to help you enter into a spiritual frame of mind to accept what God has for you?
Many things I do not understand about the nature of God. But this I have learned. My most intense and deeply life-changing experiences with God have occured when I was beaten down. He does not view my talent or skill as something I must leverage to encounter Him. King David said God "will not reject a broken and repentent heart..." (Psalm 51: 17b NLT). Do you enter into a private or corporate worship setting with a broken and repentent heart?
I suggest that you will truly have A God Meeting when you do.
