No Sin

It is good to be reminded that God hates sin. In Psalm 99: 5 and 9 we read, “Exalt the Lord our God, and worship at His holy hill, for holy is the Lord our God.” We who love God, we who exalt the Lord, we who worship the One who is worthy of all praise – we must hate sin because sin is an affront to the God we love.
When we who love God, love sin, we cheapen the cross. Christ became a curse, taking the sin of man, offering Himself as a perfect sacrifice once and for all so that forgiveness of sin is provided. In 1 John 2:1, Christ is our Advocate – He is our Advocate because at the right hand of God He intercedes for us. He knows our weakness; His blood is enough.
“And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous; and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins…”
What do you do if you have fallen into sin? If sin is entangling you? Repent – turn away and persevere in the truth. In James, we are encouraged to confess our sins to one another – if this provides accountability, then find a brother or sister in Christ who will hold you accountable to your walk of faith. In I John 1:9 we are promised that if we confess, we are forgiven. Live this promise and do not fall prey to the power of negative self talk – all of us are sinners saved by grace – and the older we get the more aware we become of our sin and the more precious the grace of God becomes in our lives.
There is a battle going on; let us fight with tenacity through the power of the Holy Spirit as we live in the grace of God, covered by the blood of Christ.
