This week I am at a conference held by the International Mission Board for the Southern Baptist Convention. I have heard from great speakers like Jerry Rankin and Ed Stetzer. Dr. Stetzer said something amazing last night. He said, “People make missions the extraordinary, but it is really just the ordinary.” Let that sink in...He continued to say that most people classify Christianity. The first level is a layman, the bottom dwellers of the faith. The next level is the holy office of minister. The highest level of faith is that of missionary. When I heard him share those classification, it was funny. Upon, thinking about it though, many people do classify their person faith. Many easily feel that being a missionary is only for a chosen few. Dr. Stetzer says that all people are ministers (1 Pt 4:10) and all people are missionaries (Jn 20:21). He said that we need to have a missional posture. All believers need to be ready to do missions...to live on mission. How can we do that? I know I have been really challenged in just one day of teaching. Please join me in prayer this week on how each of us can be ready to join God in His work.
