The Word of God
On Easter Sunday, the Bible reading in our plan was Mark 15:42-16:13. That plan was generated by a computer program based on how many verses one would need to read each day in order to read the Bible in a year. On the day that we celebrate the resurrection, the passage was about.....the resurrection. When I read through that passage, I was in awe of how the reading lined up that day.....and then it hit me. That should be our experience everyday.
The Word of God has everything we need for everything we need. Every day, it is our compass, our guide, our plumb line.
As much as I know this, I still wander. I still look for answers in other places. I still think that I can figure things out on my own. And yet, nothing can replace the inspired word of God at work in the lives of those who follow Christ.
Today, read the Word. Don't worry about what you didn't do yesterday. Don't worry about how far behind you might be in your reading plan. Just read it and allow it to transform your perspective, your outlook and your life.
