Doubt and Evangelism
Post for March 20th. Sorry this is a day late. But for what it's worth...
I think that one of the greatest areas of doubt in the church today pertains to God's will for our lives. Jesus' departing Words to the disciples and through them to us were, "'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age'” (Matthew 28:18-20).
Many believers, based on their actions, doubt Jesus meant this. He did mean it. Paul wrote to the the church at Ephesus and through them to us "His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms,"(Ephesians 3:10).
God wants His followers to help people Get to God, Grow in Christ, and Give to Others. This is the primary responsibility of the church.
Have you ever led someone to Jesus, baptized them, and helped them connect in the life of the church so they could grow and give? If so, how did you do it? If not, why not?
