Today's Reading on Righteousness

I will be speaking on this very issue on Sunday, as I talk about making plans. We have to pay attention to what we are doing with the time of our life. God is our King and we are His servants and to honor Him and live well in His name we must be careful to be where God wants us to be and do what He commands us to do.

One of the mistakes I and other Christians make is in trying to be what we want to be and then seeking to get God to ok it. That is not the Christian life. God has bought us with His blood and we have given Him our lives. In His grace we have forgiveness and His eternal love. Out of an attitude of thanks and affection we are to be what He wants and created us to be. It's not about us getting what we want. That leads to sin and the pain of consequences. We are to give God want He wants. That leads to righteousness and the joy of living in Christ.

How and for whom are you planning to live this year? Have you made plans or are you wrongly assuming that it'll just happen?
